How to use the resume builder
Many companies run resumes through an applicant tracking system (ATS) before a person reads them. These templates use a single column, standard headings and real text in the PDF, which is what those systems read best.
- Pick a template and colour.
- Fill in your contact details and a short summary.
- Add jobs, education and projects. Start each point with an action and add a number where you can.
- Download the PDF. It updates every time you edit, so keep tailoring it for each job.
Questions
Is this really free?
Yes. There’s no trial that turns into a subscription and no watermark. Many resume sites let you build for free but charge to download; this one doesn’t.
How long should my resume be?
One page for under 5 years of experience and two pages at most for senior roles. The tool warns you if it runs longer.
Should I add a photo, date of birth or marital status?
For most private-sector jobs in India, no. They take up space and aren’t needed to judge your work. Add them only if the employer asks.
What makes a strong bullet point?
Start with an action verb, say what you did and give the result with a number. For example: “Cut report preparation time from 2 days to 3 hours by automating it in Python.”
Is my data stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser, so the form is filled in next time you visit. Nothing is sent to a server. Use Clear form to remove it, for example on a shared computer.
Can I write in Hindi or another Indian language?
Not in this version. The PDF uses standard fonts that only cover English letters, so ₹ is written as “Rs.” and other scripts show as “?”. The marriage biodata maker does support every Indian language.
